The Focus Group Training entitled “Horizon Europe Cluster 2: Culture, Creativity and Inclusive Societies – From Call Text to a Competitive Proposal”, organised under the Technical Assistance for Türkiye in Horizon Europe Project, was held in Istanbul. The training, conducted on 19–20 February 2026, aimed to strengthen the capacity of stakeholders within the Turkish Research Area (TARAL) to develop higher-quality and more competitive project proposals under Horizon Europe Cluster 2 calls.
The opening speech of the event was delivered by TÜBİTAK National Contact Point Dr İlknur Yılmaz Gümüş. TÜBİTAK National Contact Point Eren Temir also attended the event. Throughout the programme, the National Contact Points remained available to respond to participants’ questions and provide the necessary guidance. Following the opening session, thematic experts Alessandra Rossetti and Tuba Bircan led the programme, providing participants with comprehensive insights into the structure, priorities and expectations of Cluster 2. The sessions focused on interpreting call texts from an evaluator’s perspective and effectively managing the proposal preparation process.
Furthermore, throughout the training, the Excellence, Impact and Implementation dimensions of project proposals were addressed through an integrated approach. Participants engaged in practical exercises on defining measurable objectives, positioning project ideas in line with Cluster 2 priorities, structuring work packages and budget planning appropriately, as well as identifying key considerations in administrative procedures.
With its strategic content and hands-on methodology, the training stood out as an important capacity-building activity, contributing to stakeholders’ ability to participate in Horizon Europe with stronger and more competitive proposals.
